  1. MADgic40.lzh is Version 4.0 of The MADgic Core: Core War for the Amiga
  2. Copyright 1992 Mark A. Durham.  It is freely distributable in its complete
  3. archived form.

  5. The archive should be decompressed to an empty floppy disk to get the
  6. full effect of the system.  It requires about 90% of an 880K disk.
  7.  
  8. New for 4.0:
  9.    Keys:
  10.       Menu short cuts now work with or without the Right Amiga key
  11.       depressed.  Foreign keyboard?  Strange keymap?  Dvorak lover?
  12.       No trouble!  It is taken care of.  While we are on the subject
  13.       of keys, be sure to try Left Amiga-V for OK gadgets and
  14.       Right Amiga-B for Cancel gadgets.  Also, play with the cursor keys
  15.       (and SHIFTed cursor keys and ALTed cursor keys) in the new Load
  16.       requester (see below).  Don't forget these other short cuts:
  17.       Right Amiga-ALT to deselect string gadgets; Right Amiga-Q to undo
  18.       changes in a string gadget; and Right Amiga-X to clear a string
  19.       gadget.

  21.    Configurable Sound:
  22.       Allows you to assign different frequencies (in Hz) to different
  23.       instructions.  Instructions for Player A are one octave above
  24.       instructions for Player B - the frequencies for which are displayed
  25.       (and alterable) in the Sound... requester.  Hit the Sound button to
  26.       turn sound on or off.

  28.    Load Requester with that Release 2.0 look-and-feel:
  29.       Many 3.x problems have been fixed here.  The AReq, BReq, and Random
  30.       gadgets are all accessible from single keystrokes.

  32.    Go:
  33.       Go has cleaned up its act.  It is now a synonym for Continue.

  35.    Windows:
  36.       The main Core Window can now be sent Forward and Backward with single
  37.       keystrokes.  The Tasks Gauge and Timer Windows can both be moved
  38.       about (as well as the Trace and Memory Windows) by selecting the
  39.       window and then depressing the cursor keys.  Be sure to try them
  40.       SHIFTed and ALTed.

  42.    Bugs, bugs, bugs:
  43.       I have discovered and eradicated many potential 3.x bugs.

  49.       When you want blazing speed and versatility in a small package, these
  50.       four programs are it.  No graphics or debugging - just fast and small.

  52.    Redcode:
  53.       Redcode programs from the 1987, 1988, 1989, and 1990 ICWS tournaments.
  54.       No assembly required!

  56.    TMARS:
  57.       A round-robin tournament manager program.  It is actually encrypted
  58.       in the archive.  This is to encourage you to register your copy of
  59.       The MADgic Core with me.  Registration is free.  I just want to keep
  60.       track of those using the system.  When I receive your registration,
  61.       I'll send you the MADgic word which decrypts the program.
